Born to Write – Coach Azul’s Podcast

I love podcasts. I listen to podcasts about writing, editing, creativity, entrepreneurship, or ones that are purely inspirational. I use the time getting dressed and the commute to and from work each day to listen. Some days that is almost two hours of podcast listening time!

My current favorite podcasts are:

And now I’ve discovered a new podcast, Born to Write by Coach Azul Terronez! The episodes released so far are powerful and inspiring. The first three guests are an impressive line up: Pat Flynn (Smart Passive Income), Jon Vroman (The Front Row Factor), and boss-mom Dana Malstaff.

Azul Terronez uses his skills as a writing coach and educator to ask his amazing guests about their writing journeys. He starts with asking how writing was like for them as kids. Jon Vroman, like a lot of kids, didn’t enjoy writing, feeling like it was something he was forced to do in school. Others, like Dana Malstaff excelled in school, but didn’t set out to write a book. But writing the book ended up helping her to focus on her strengths and her Boss-mom brand.

Azul talks with Pat Flynn about the process of coaching him through writing his book. As a coach and a podcaster, Azul has a natural talent of asking the right questions to draw out the ideas and stories from writers.

I look forward to many more episodes of Born to Write, and working with Coach Azul on my first non-fiction book! As a YA Science Fiction writer I said I would *never* be able to write a non-fiction book. Then I heard Coach Azul on a podcast and little seeds of ideas for a non-fiction book started niggling in the back of my brain. Now I’m working through Coach Azul’s Authors Writing Academy and trying to narrow down the focus of my book.

I’ve included a lot of links in this blog post, so I hope you check out these amazing podcasts. Are there other podcasts that you like to listen to that I don’t have listed here? Leave a note in the comments and let me know which ones are your favorites!

Pre-Order BIOLAB ZEG – third book in the Recycling Humanity YA SF novel series

YA SF book lovers!

With my Recycling Humanity’s third book in the series, Biolab Zeg, I’m trying something new. Pre-orders on Amazon. I’m hoping to get more reviews this way, so that the Recycling Humanity world is visible to more readers!

I love this post-apocalyptic world and the kick-ass young women and men that are making it a better place despite all the challenges I keep throwing at them. Biolab Zeg gets us even closer to the Migration toward humanities’ new home, and gives us yet another flawed but strong young woman to go through space adventures with.

As the date gets closer to the August 1, 2016 availability, I will give updates on how it’s progressing. Right now it looks like only the e-book is up for pre-order.

If anyone is interested in a free e-copy of Biolab Zeg in return for an honest review, email me at author (at) heatherleedyer (dot) com!

Thank you, awesome readers!

New Covers for Recycling Humanity Series!

In 2015 when I published Recycling Humanity and Starlight Max, it was only going to be the two books in the series. I didn’t want to do a trilogy since I have issues with odd numbers (I know, right?). But I’ve had many readers requesting more stories in the Recycling Humanity universe, and I love the characters and the world they’re surviving in, so I’ve decided to write at least two more books. Four is a great number!

The third book in the series will be coming out this July 2016. To celebrate and prepare for its launch, we’ve created all new covers! When I originally was going to have only the two books we did a special photo shoot with an amazing model for the cover. It was an incredible experience to go through the whole process. But now that I’ve introduced at least two more books to the series, I need covers that will all go together. And my graphic artist did an awesome job! Such fun!

Hope you enjoy these covers! I’ll have news of #3 soon!
